WHITE LAKE, N.C.- The Cobra men’s golf team fired an eight-under-par 280 in the final round of the Carolina Sands Intercollegiate to take home second place tie with Barton College, falling just 10 strokes behind the champion Belmont Abbey College. In addition to their second place team finish, Ben Conroy (Durham, Conn.) placed second overall after falling to medalist Peter Tarver Jones of Belmont Abbey in a four hole playoff.

Jake Murphy (Hamilton, N.J.) shot the low round of the day, a six-under 66, to take home third place honors for the Cobras. Conroy shot a three-under 69 in the final round, while Diego Polo (Guatemala City, Guatemala) carded a one-under 71. Jared Crane (Greenville, S.C.) and Josh Clay (Stark County, Ohio) came in a 74 and 80 respectively to round out the field for the Cobras.

Coker’s tie for second ends the Cobras rein as champions of the Carolina Sands Intercollegiate. The Cobras had won the previous three tournaments. Up next for the Cobras is the Conference Carolinas Championship on April 17-19.
