GREENWOOD, S.C.- The Cobra men’s golf team shot a team total of 299 (+11) in the final round of the 2011 Bearcat Invitational hosted by Lander University, placing them in 13th overall for the tournament. UNC Pembroke took home the championship with Carson-Newman College placing second and Georgia College & State University coming in third.

Jake Murphy (Hamilton, N.J.) shot 74-74 to pace the Cobras, while Josh Clay (Stark County, Ohio) shot 71-77. Diego Polo (Guatemala City, Guatemala) fired 77-73 for the Cobras and Jared Crane (Greenville, S.C.) finished the 36 hole event with scores of 78-75. Ben Conroy (Durham, Conn.) rounded out the field for Coker with 78-78 in the two day event.

The Cobras get back to the links for the Carolina Sands Tournament hosted by UNC Pembroke on April 2-3 in White Lake, N.C.
