REUNION, Fla.- The Coker Golf team completed their first tournament of the spring season on Tuesday with a 10th place finish at the Golfweek Division II Invitational in Reunion, Fla. at the Independence Golf Course. The Cobras shot a three round total of 906 (+42), putting them just one stroke behind fellow Conference Carolinas school and ninth place finisher Queens University of Charlotte.

Nova Southeastern was the overall winner, defeating University of West Florida by two strokes to capture the title.

Freshman Jake Murphy (Hamilton, N.J.) finished the tournament in a tie for fifth place, shooting a three day 218 (+2), followed by senior Jay Goldenberg’s (Toronto, Ontario) 227 (+11). Ben Conroy (Durham, Conn.) finished at 231 (+15) and Jimmy Gillam (Tyrone, Pa.) and Chris Marsh (Georgetown, S.C.) shot 236 (+20) and 237 (+21) respectively.

The Cobras will return to the links on March 1-2 at the Richard Rendleman Invitational hosted by Catawba College in Salisbury, N.C.
