Orlando, Fla. – The Lander University Bearcats shot eight under par (280) as a team to take the lead after day one of the Coker College Invitational at Orange County National Golf Course in Orlando, Fla. Florida Southern is just two strokes back at six under par (282), while Barton College and Rollins College are both tied for third after a two under par first round (286).

Adam McKinney of Georgia Southwestern leads all golfers with a round one 67 (-5), followed by Roberto Nasalli-Roca of Lander and Ian Gilley of Rollins each shot 68
(-4). Hot on their tails are thirteen golfers who also had under par first rounds.

For Coker, the Cobras are tied for eighth place with Newberry College with a three over (291) performance. Patrick Kirby (Toronto, Ontario) leads the way with a one under 71, followed Trey Bridwell (Greer, SC) firing a even par 72. John LaDow (Pottstown, PA) shot 73 (+1) and Chris Marsh (Georgetown, SC) and Jimmy Gillam (Tyrone, PA) each shot 75 (+3).

The final round of the Coker Invitational will be completed on Tuesday, with teams teeing off starting at 8:00 a.m.
