Mooresville, N.C. – The Coker College Golf Team had a tough day on the golf course, as the Cobras fell back a spot in the Atlantic Regional, falling to fourth place with a score of 302 (+14). After two rounds Coker has shot a combined 608 (+32), placing the Cobras in 11th place out of 16 teams in the Atlantic/Southeast Super Region.

Leading Coker on day two was Stephen Thomson (Bracebridge, Ontario) with a one under 71, followed by Jay Goldenberg (Toronto, Ontario) with a two over par 74. Chris Marsh (Georgetown, SC) shot a six over 78 and Trey Bridwell (Greer, SC) shot seven over 79. Coker’s final golfer was Jimmy Gillam (Tyrone, PA) with a nine over 81 for day two.

The Cobras will play their third and final round of the regional tournament on Wednesday, as they try to advance to the NCAA Division II National Championship. Coker must finish as one of the top five teams in the super regional in order to advance.
