Hartsville, SC- After day one of the Coker College Intercollegiate Golf Tournament, the University of South Carolina’s “B” Team has a nine shot lead over host Coker College. USC shot a team 284 (-4) on the par 72 6,615 yard Hartsville Country Club on Monday, while Coker shot a 293 (+5).

Pfeiffer’s Marc Kourie is the individual leader, firing a six under 66; he is followed by USC’s Paul Woodbury, with a three under 69. Adam McKinney or Georgia Southwestern and Bryan Miller of USC are tied for third after shooting two under 70’s, while seven players are tied for fifth at 71 (-1).

For Coker, Benoit Gordon leads the way with a 71 (-1), followed by Patrick Kirby with a 73 (+1). Stephen Thomson shot a 74 (+2), with Jay Goldenberg firing a 75 (+3) and Chris Marsh shooting 76 (+4).

The Coker Intercollegiate will conclude on Tuesday, with the final 18 holes of golf. Teams begin to tee off at 8:00 a.m. at the Hartsville Country Club.
