Savannah, GA- The 2006-2007 golf season came to an end on Wednesday for the Cobra men. Coker finished in fifth place in the Atlantic Region golf tournament. As a team the Cobras shot 114 over, 978 in the three round tournament. Belmont Abbey was the winning team advancing them to the NCAA Division II National Championship.

 

Leading the Cobras was freshman Chris Marsh, who fired a 20 over 236, tying him for fifth place, while fellow classmate Jimmy Gillam shot a 30 over 246, tying him for 14th place. Senior Blaine Rogers finished his collegiate career with a 31 over 247 in a tie for 19th place. Jay Goldenberg and Stephen Frisch rounded out the Cobras five, with scores of 42 over, 258 and 44 over, 260 respectively.

 

 

The Cobras and Coach John Handrigan will now look toward the future that includes the loss of only two golfers from this year’s team. Along with the addition of a few new faces for next season. Coker will be on the hunt to return to the top of the conference, the region and make another trip to the NCAA Division II National Championship.
