The Bulldogs got a pair of 3-under 68s from Stephen Harrison and Neal Jones, a 70 from Jonathan Burke, and a 72 from Nick Nosewicz to rally from an eight-shot deficit after 36 holes and nip Belmont Abbey by one shot.
Barton finished the 54-hole event at 871. Belmont Abbey was second at 872,
Rounding out the field were Coker 904, Mount Olive 908, Limestone 910, and St. Andrews Presbyterian 914.
Second-round leader Belmont Abbey did not post a score higher than 75 but it wasn't good enough to hold off Barton. Kasey Timms led the Crusaders in the final round with a 69.
Burke took medalist honors with a 54-hole total of 4-under 209. Connor Tomlinson of Belmont Abbey was second at 2-under 211, John Kolls of St. Andrews was third at 214, David Harris of Pfeiffer was fourth at at 215, and Scott Kegerreis II of
Coker’s Blaine Rogers finished tied for ninth place with a 220 (+7) total, followed by Chris Marsh and Jimmy Gillam at 223 (+10). Stephen Frisch and Jay Goldenberg rounded out the field for Coker, shooting 242 (+29) and 245 (+32) respectively.
