Columbus, GA- With the first round of play complete at the Aflac/Cougar Invitational, the Coker College Golf Team fins themselves in 16^th place out of 18 teams. Last weeks winner of the Coker Invitational, Valdosta State, is continuing their solid play as they lead the field with a score of 278, six under par on the par 71 Green Island Country Club course.

Coker shot a team total of 302, 18 over par for the first day. Leading the Cobras is freshman Jimmy Gillam, with a first round one over par 72, tying him for 24^th place. Steve Frisch is next after firing a two over 73, leaving him in a tie for 33^rd position, while Chris Marsh shot a 76, followed by Keith Wallace with a 81. Rounding out the Coker five was Stephen Thomson with a first round 84.

Coker will tee off for the final round of play today with tee times starting at 8:00 a.m. Fans can follow all the action live on the internet with live scoring through www.golfstat.com.
