Hartsville, SC- Coker College Head Men’s Golf Coach, John Handrigan was named the 2006 Atlantic Regional Coach of the Year by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

 

“This is a great honor for me and my team,” stated Handrigan, “It was a pleasure to coach such a fine group of golfers, and without them we would not have been able to have such a successful season.”

 

Coach Handrigan led his Cobras to the 2006 Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference Championship, along with winning the Atlantic Regional and making the program’s first appearance as a team at the NCAA Division II National Championship.

 

This is the first time Handrigan has received the Regional Coach of the Year Award. He was previously named the CVAC Coach of the Year in 2005.
