Hartsville, SC- The Coker Golf Team narrowly defeated the University of South Carolina “B” Team to claim victory at the Coker College Intercollegiate Golf Tournament at Hartsville Country Club Tuesday. Coker had a combined two day total of 589 to USC’s 590. Reinhardt College came in third, followed by Wingate University, Mars Hill College and Fayetteville St. There was a two-way tie for seventh place between Shorter College and Limestone College, followed by SC State in ninth place.

Coker had 3 golfers place in the top ten, led by Vincent Dumouchel (144) in third place followed by Johary Raveloarison (146) and Gary Morgan (149), who tied for fourth place and eighth place respectively. Rounding out the Coker five were Benoit Gordon (155) in and Blaine Rogers (157). Competing as individuals for Coker were Andrew Efird with a two day total of 153, Keith Wallace with a 154, Stephen Thomson shooting 156 and Charles Francis with a 165.

Chris Nicol of Reinhardt College was the individual medalist, after he fired a 67 in the final round and a two day total of 139. Baker Elmore of USC was second with a total of 140 over the two days.

This tournament is the last for Coker in their fall season. They will now prepare to start their regular season in February, with hopes of bringing home a CVAC Championship.
