GREENEVILLE, TN --- Western Carolina University freshman Matt Cook fired a tournament-best 69 Sunday and Coker College held off WCU by two strokes to claim the 2005 Tusculum College Invitational title at Link Hills Country Club in Greeneville.

 

Cook came into the final round in a seven-way tie for third and carded just the second under-par round of the tournament.  Coker sophomore Johary Raveloarison was the other, posting a 70 after shooting 77 in the opening round, joining Barton College sophomore Jon Wetton, Cumberland University junior Barry Conatser and Barton senior Ross Gilbert on the All-Tournament Team.

 

Coker, who led by two (301-303) over Western Carolina after the first round, matched WCU's second-day score of 294 to win by two.  Barton (599) finished third, followed by Tusculum (612) and Cumberland (617).

 

First-round leader Conatser shot a 74 to tie for second with Wetton at 145. Raveloarison and Gilbert tied for fourth with a score of 147.
