Men's Basketball Announces 2023/24 Newcomers

Coker Men's Basketball is excited to announce the addition of five talented newcomers to their roster. These athletes bring a diverse range of skills and experiences to the team, and they are expected to make a significant impact on the court.

First up is Andre Leavell, a 6'2" guard from Canton, OH. Leavell joins Coker from Arkansas Tech University, where he averaged 10 points, 3.5 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game. As a junior, Leavell brings valuable experience to the team and is expected to contribute both offensively and defensively.

Next is Anthony (AJ) Burch, a 5'9" guard from Annapolis, MD, who joins Coker from Central Lakes College. Burch was named the Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) Northern Division Player of the Year, averaging 15.2 points, 6.5 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game. Burch's playmaking abilities and leadership will be valuable assets to the team.

Hayden Abdullah, a 6'8" forward from Storrs Mansfield, CT, comes to Coker from DME Academy. Abdullah's impressive stats of 18 points and 9 rebounds per game highlight his scoring and rebounding abilities. As a freshman, Abdullah has the potential to make an immediate impact in the frontcourt.

Camerin Horton, a 6'5" forward from Baltimore, MD, joins Coker after a successful high school career at Baltimore City College. Horton was a key player in leading his team to the Maryland Class 3A State Championship, averaging 20.9 points and 11.1 rebounds per game. With his size and versatility, Horton will provide a strong presence in the paint.

Lastly, Jevon Brown, a 6'0" guard from Florence, SC, comes to Coker from Wilson High School. Brown was part of the South Carolina 2022 Class 4A State Championship team and earned All-Region IV 4A Second Team honors. Brown's scoring ability and court vision will be valuable assets for the team.

These newcomers bring a combination of experience, skill, and talent to the Coker Men's Basketball program. Head coach, Michael Lamberti, is excited about the potential impact they will have on the team and looks forward to seeing them contribute to the success of the program.
