Cobras Shut Down Cavaliers in Overtime

Hartsville, SC - The Coker University Men's Basketball Team defeated the UVA Wise Cavaliers on Saturday (Dec. 17th) by a score of 88-83.

Tate Mulkey, turned completely hot from the beginning of the game, dropped 21 points against the Cavaliers. Shooting 5-6 from behind the free throw line, Jamie Muldowney was also applying heavy pressure with 20 points of his own. Jordan Jones and Mahmoud Bangura combined for a total of 25 points throughout the game. As a team, Coker shot 45.9 percent from the the field, 48.1 percent from behind the three point line, and 82.6 percent from the foul line. 

Not only were the Cobras burning up on the offensive end, but also on the defensive end with 34 rebounds. Mahmoud Bangura led the team with nine rebounds. Bangura was closely followed by Jordan Jones (7), Jamie Muldowney (4), and Xavier Moultrie (3). Five other Cobras were able to get in on the action and collect the remaining 11 rebounds. 

Bradley Dean from UVA Wise collected 17 points, leading the Cavaliers in the game. 

The Cobras return to action on Monday (Dec. 19th) against Converse. Tip off is set for 2:00 PM. Live streaming and stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com
