GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Coker College men's basketball team dropped a non-conference road matchup to the Limestone College Saints on Wednesday (Nov. 16) by a score of 76-75.

Both teams were deadlocked at 14-14 after the opening six and a half minutes. However, a 14-4 Limestone run over the next three minutes left the Saints with a 28-18 lead with 10 minutes to go in the opening half. The Cobras struggled to chip into the deficit, until a 7-0 run by the Navy and Gold cut the deficit to just three at 37-34. Back-to-back buckets by Limestone left the Saints with a 41-34 lead as the two sides departed for halftime.

Coker struggled to break the deficit early in the second half, trailing 48-40 with 15 minutes left in the second half. However, the Cobras went on a furious 8-0 run over the next three minutes to tie things up. Neither side could pull away over the five minutes, with Limestone capturing a five-point lead twice during the stretch. Another offensive spurt by Limestone pushed its lead out to 71-62 with 3:27 left. The Cobras fought their way back in, closing the deficit to 74-72 with just 48 seconds left. However, timely free throw shooting by the Saints and a late Coker turnover notched the eventual 76-75 win for Limestone.

JaQuez Motley led the way for the Navy and Gold, pouring in 16 points on 6-12 shooting. Miguel Priest chipped in 12 points and four rebounds, while LaDarius Williams finished with 11 points and three rebounds off the bench.
