Coker's Bethel and Samuels Earn All-SAC Basketball Honors

HARTSVILLE, S.C. –Coker College men's basketball players Errick Bethel and Donte Samuels have been named to the South Atlantic Conference all-conference teams, the league office announced today. Bethel was named to the All-SAC second team, while Samuels was an All-SAC honorable mention selection.

Bethel, a senior guard from Irmo, S.C., played and started in 26 games for the Cobras this season. He averaged a team and league-high 19.9 points per game. He also averaged 1.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. He finished the regular season shooting 37.2 percent from the field, 36.3 percent from behind the arc and just over 80 percent from the free-throw line.

Errick is a physical education and sports studies major with a concentration in sports management. He is the son of Errick and Linda Bethel.

Samuels, a sophomore forward from Rocky Mount, N.C., played and started in 24 games for the Cobras this season. He averaged 13.8 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game. He shot 51.1 percent from the floor and just over 75 percent from the charity stripe, both of which ranked him in the top 15 in the conference.

Donte is a business administration major. He is the son of Seora Samuels-Harris and Henry Harris.
