Coker Men Looking to Repeat Past Success against Mars Hill

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's basketball team will be back in action on Saturday (Dec. 13) at 4 p.m. in the DeLoach Center as they take on the visiting Lions of Mars Hill University in a South Atlantic Conference matchup. Live stats and broadcast can be found at www.cokercobras.com.

The Navy and Yellow return home after winning two of their last three conference games. Last season, the Cobras swept the Lions defeating them 95-79 at Mars Hill and 97-90 at home.  

The Cobras are led offensively by the senior guard duo of Errick Bethel and Jordan Scott. Bethel is scoring a team-high 19.7 points a game this season, which is also third best in the SAC. Scott is coming off an 18-point performance in his season debut against Lincoln Memorial University. Junior big men Trey James and Jalen Watson are coming off 16 and 15 rebound performance last time on the floor as well.

The Lions travel to Hartsville with a record 5-3 overall, and 1-3 in conference record after a 74-60 loss to Wingate. Juniors Patrick Monroe and Justin Yeargin are the scoring leaders averaging 15.2 and 14.8 points per game. Isaiah Cuthbertson is also chipping in 11.8 points, while pulling down a conference best 10.1 rebounds a game.

Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. on Saturday (Dec. 13) at Coker College's DeLoach Center. Tickets are $15 dollars for reserved seats, $5 dollars for adults, $3 dollars for students, and free for all Coker students, faculty and staff.
