Coker Set to Face No. 16 Carson-Newman Saturday

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men's basketball team is set to take on the nationally ranked No. 16 Carson-Newman Eagles this Saturday (Nov. 23) in the Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium in its first home game of the season.

The reigning South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week, Larry Felder, leads the way for Coker. The junior is averaging 20.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game time. Senior Julian Nelson is second on the team in scoring with 14.3 points per game. To date, Nelson as scored 928 points in his career. As a team the Cobras are averaging 82.3 points per game.

Carson-Newman is entering the game at 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the SAC. Antonie Davis and his 21 points per game lead the Eagles. He is followed by Ishmael Sanders, with 17 points per game. As a team Carson-Newman is averaging 85.3 points per game.

The game is set to tip-off at 4 p.m. following the conclusion of the women's game at 2 p.m. Tickets for adults will be $5, students will be $3, and admission for all Coker faculty, staff, and students will be free. The game will be streaming online at www.cokercobras.com.
