Cobras Make it Four in a Row with 79-68 Win Over North Greenville

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – A trio of Cobras scored in double figures to lead Coker to a 79-68 win over North Greenville in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action on Saturday afternoon. Julian Nelson, Teon Beckett and Bryce Arnott were the driving forces behind the Cobras fourth straight victory.

With its sixth win in the last seven games, Coker moves to 6-4 overall and 4-1 in league play.

A closely contested game from start to finish, the Cobras trailed the Crusaders early on, but a 3-pointer by Andrew Morris with 11 minutes left in the opening half put Coker on top for good. It was not the best shooting game the Cobras, as they hit just 36.5 percent of their shots from the field, but they dominated the boards, out rebounding the Crusaders 56-43.

Nelson was the Cobras leading scorer with 20 points, four rebounds and three assists, while Beckett scored a career and season high 12 points with seven boards, three assists and two blocks off the bench. Arnott also scored a season high with 11 points, five assists and two steals. Sharod Williams was the team's leading rebounder with 12, while Austin Harper pulled down nine boards. The Cobras spread the wealth to everyone on the team, as every player recorded at least one point and one rebound.

Coker will be back in action on Tuesday (Jan. 8) on the road against Barton College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. following the women's game at 5:30 p.m.
