GAFFNEY, S.C. – Senior Liam Kyle (Cleveland, Ohio) scored a game high 22 points in the Coker Cobras 68-59 loss to the Limestone College Saints on Saturday night in the final game of the Conference Carolinas Championship game. The loss ends the Cobras historic season at 14-14 overall and 10-8 in conference play.

Kyle and fellow senior Tom Wright (Sydney, Australia) were named to the All-Tournament team. Wright added 10 points to the night along with five rebounds. Also scoring in double figures was senior Joselle Bracy (Ruby, S.C.) with 12 points.

The Cobras never seemed to be able to get a groove going in the first half as they shot just 37.9 percent from the floor and were just 2-for-6 (33 percent) from the charity stripe sending them to the break behind 29-25.

The second half was better for the Cobras, as they finally cut the Saints lead to one with 3:16 left thanks to a 10-0 run. After nearly a minute and a half of no scoring the Saints took a three point lead (60-57), but a Delonte Doles (Newport News, Va.) lay-up made it a one point game once again. That would be as close as Coker would get as the Saints used an 8-0 run to close the game and take a 68-59 win.

Jarrell Douglas was the Saints leading scorer with 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Michael Barrett had 15 points and Danny Friend netted 11.

A historic season for the Cobras, they close out the season winning 9 of their last 12, including six of their last seven. It was the first time in school history Coker hosted a semifinal conference tournament game and it was the highest finish by the Cobras in more than a decade.
