GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Cobras forced 18 turnovers leading to 28 points as Coker rolled past Limestone College 76-53 on Monday night in Conference Carolinas men’s basketball action. The win is Coker’s third in a row moving them into a tie for fifth in the conference standings, while the loss is just the second in the conference for the Saints dropping them to second in the conference standings.

Holding a narrow 27-25 lead with 4:19 remaining in the first half, Coker put together a massive 41-18 run that stretched deep into the second half as they took a 68-43 lead with 7:47 to play. The Saints would get to within 68-49 with 4:47 to go but would get no closer as the Cobras ran out the clock to come away with the 76-53 victory.

Coker controlled much of the first half of play as they raced out to a lead of 19-13 with 8:57 remaining before a 5-2 rally by the Saints narrowed the gap to 21-18. They would keep the game close over the next several minutes as the Cobras managed only a 27-22 lead at the 4:35 mark. A Saints three-pointer pulled Limestone to within two points but that would be as close as they would get for the rest of the game.

Junior guard Delonte Doles (Roswell, Ga.) finished with a game-high 22 points and added five assists to lead the Cobras while senior guard Tom Wright (Sydney, Australia) had a solid all-around game with 14 points, five boards, four steals and a pair of assists. Senior forward Liam Kyle (Cleveland, Ohio) added 10 points and a game-high seven rebounds and senior guard Joselle Bracy (Ruby, S.C.) finished with eight points and a game-high five steals.

Danny Friend led the Saints attack with 11 points, seven boards and three blocks and forward Jarrell Douglass finished with 14 points, five boards and three assists. Ashton Ford added nine points on three three-pointers while guard Stewart Clark chipped in with three assists.

Coker will return to the floor on Friday, February 11  when they travel to Charlotte, N.C. to play at the Charlotte Bobcats
