Due West, SC- The Coker Cobras defeated Conference Carolinas foe Erskine College, 69-50, on Thursday night in men’s collegiate basketball. The win improves the Cobras to an 8-14 overall, and 6-9 in the conference.

Coker shot 57 percent from the floor and 77 percent from the free throw line, compared to Erskine’s 30 percent from the field and 44 percent from the free throw line.  Both teams pulled down an even 38 rebounds apiece, while Coker scored 33 points from beyond the arc and Erskine scored 27 points.

Coker’s Josh Poston (Myrtle Beach, SC) scored a game high 19 points with three rebounds, while Mason Ambler (Atlanta, GA) recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Lukas Varga (Pawley’s Island, SC) also scored 12 points, while Michael Gore (Landis, NC) poured in 10 points with four rebounds.

Brandon Wright scored 17 points with five rebounds, while T.J. Taylor had 12 points with five rebounds for Erskine.

The Cobras return to the court next Thursday, February 14, as they host Mount Olive at 7:30 p.m.
