Hartsville, SC- Game number two of Saturday’s collegiate basketball double-header proved just as exciting as game number one. After the Coker Lady Cobras came back from a 14 point half-time deficit to take home the victory over Lees-McRae, the Coker men’s team was able to battle back from a seven point half-time deficit for a victory of their own. The Cobras snapped a six game losing streak with a 77-75 win over the Bobcats of Lees-McRae. The win brings Coker’s record to 6-12 overall, and 4-7 in Conference Carolinas play, while Lees-McRae falls to 2-14 overall, and 1-9 in the conference.

The Cobras trailed the Bobcats 37-30 at the half, only to battle back and out score Lees-McRae 47-38 in the second half. Coker was an even 50 percent from the field, shooting 28-for-56, while Lees-McRae shot 53.7 percent from the field, 22-for-41.

Coker big man, Mason Ambler (Atlanta, GA), lead the way for Coker with a game high 27 points, five rebounds and four assists, while J.C. Hafner (Jefferson, MD) had 13 points, 12 from beyond the arc, with three rebounds and four assists. Josh Poston (Myrtle Beach, SC) was the only other Cobra in double figures, scoring 12 points, while dishing out six assists.

For the Bobcats, Raysean Hairston and Nick Deschepper each had 16 points and five rebounds, while Blake Carr had 15 points, going 3-for-5 from 3-point land. Mario McClunie was able to be the fourth Bobcat in double figures with 10 points and three rebounds.

Coker and Lees-McRae return to the hardwood on Monday, as the Cobras travel to Anderson and Lees-McRae hosts Erskine. Both games tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
