Hartsville, SC- With a score of 71-63, the Coker Cobras lost their third straight game to the Queens University Royals in men’s collegiate basketball. The loss moves the Cobras to 5-10 overall, and 3-5 in Conference Carolinas play, while Queens improves to 11-3 overall, and 6-1 in the conference.

It was a fairly even game with seven lead changes and seven ties occurring over the two halves. Queens out rebounded the Cobras by nearly 10, 32-23, but Coker held the advantage on steals seven to five. Both the Cobras and the Royals had double figure turnovers, with the Royals committing 18 turnovers and the Cobras giving up 12.

Leading the way for Coker was Josh Poston (Myrtle Beach, SC) with 17 points, four rebound and three assists, while Michael Gore (Landis, NC) and J.C. Hafner (Jefferson, MD) each scored 11 points for the Cobras.

Darnell Evans was the game's high scorer with 26 points and four rebounds for Queens. Evans was also a perfect 13-for-13 for the charity stripe. Reggie Hopkins was the only other Royal to reach double figures, with 16 points and two assists.

Both teams return to the hardwood on Monday, with Coker hosting Pfeiffer and Queens traveling to Barton. Game times are 7:30 p.m.
