DUE WEST, SC — Coker ran its winning streak to three games Monday night with a 56-43 victory at Erskine College in men’s collegiate basketball.  Coker improves to 5-6 overall and 3-1 in the CVAC, while Erskine falls to 3-6, 1-2 in the conference.
 
The Cobras trailed by as many as seven during the first half but cut the deficit to 22-20 behind eight points from senior Jamie Jenkins/Columbia, SC.  The Flying Fleet went on a 9-1 run to open the second period and led 31-21 just over four minutes played. 

Coker came back to take the lead at 38-36 on a jumper by junior Johnny Jackson/Hartsville, SC with 10 minutes to play and never trailed again.  CC quickly pushed the margin to eight points and, with the Fleet struggling to score, ran away with a 13 point victory.
 
Senior Michael Pierce/Whiteville, NC led the Cobras with 15 points and eight rebounds and Jenkins totaled 11 points, seven boards and three assists.  Senior Blake Miller/Moncks Corner, SC provided a spark off the bench with 10 points and Jackson added seven.

Coker hosts Mt. Olive now on Thursday night, January 13, at 7:30 PM.  The Trojans are off to a 9-1 start on the year and are 3-0 in the CVAC.
