CHARLOTTE, NC — Coker never led in an 84-79 loss at Queens University of Charlotte Sunday night, the final regular season contest of the men’s basketball season.  Coker must now turn its attention to Erskine, who CC will travel to play on Monday night in the first round of the CVAC Tournament at 7:00 PM.

The Cobras (6-21, 4-16) followed the same script from Thursday night’s loss to Barton, falling behind 23-3 for the second game in a row.  CC again made a furious second half comeback but ran out of gas down the stretch.

Coker fell behind by as many as 22 points midway through the opening period but whittled away at the lead to trail 44-33 at the break.  The Cobras made a 12-5 run to open the second period to make it 49-45 but Queens scored the next 10 points to squash the comeback.

Coker scored 25 points off of 18 Royals turnovers but 58 percent shooting helped Queens overcome its ball-handling woes.  Queens also out-rebounded CC 37-23 and went to the foul line 12 more times.

Jason Fulwood scored 22 points to lead Coker and shot 5-9 from three-point range.  Michael Pierce and Darian Kearney each scored 12 points and Kearney also pulled down seven rebounds.
