Esports Falls to Newberry

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Coker University Esports lost its Spring season opener to Newberry College by a score of 2-0 on Wednesday night (Feb. 2).

The home team Newberry won the first game 13-7 on the map of their choice Fracture and won the second game on the map of Split 13-7 chosen by the visiting Cobras.
Coker with aggressive site takes and making strong picks, played very strongly off their momentum win some 3-4 rounds back to back. Though when the momentum fell out from underneath them they had a difficult time re-establishing themselves.

Sebastian Williamson highlighted in the Fracture map with nerves of steel clutching out against four opposing players. Additionally, Izabella Dulany showed her strong leadership skills and knowledge of the game on the map Split, clutching out a crucial round when the rest of her team had fallen.

Head coach Logan Henderson said, "Though this was a hard-fought loss, there is much to be improved on and plenty of potential from this Cobras squad."
