Coker ESports Falls to Colorado and California in Overwatch

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker ESports Overwatch team fell to Colorado and California in the Open Division Overwatch Championship on Saturday (Feb. 27).

Coker played its first match against Colorado. The first map of the match was at Oasis. Colorado got to the first point at the beginning. Coker was able to recapture the point, but Colorado stole it back to win the first round. Colorado captured the first point again in the second round, keeping it to win Oasis. The second map of the match was at King's Row. Coker unlocked the payload quickly, but wasn't able to push it far past the starting area. Colorado unlocked the payload quickly and pushed past Coker's spot to win the match 2-0.

Coker played its second match against California, starting back at Oasis. Both teams traded the point back and forth, but California held onto the point to win the map. Both teams later returned to King's Row and Coker unlocked the point in an attempt to push the payload. California caught up to Coker to unlock the point. In the end, California push passed Coker to win the match 2-0.

Coker will return next Saturday (Mar. 6) with another Open Division Overwatch doubleheader starting at 3:00 p.m. Video will be available at www.cokercobras.com.
