Coker ESports Falls to Jamestown in Third Round of Hearthstone

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker University ESports team fell to Jamestown 3-0 in the third round of the NACE Hearthstone National Championship on Tuesday (Feb. 16).

Coker brought its Highlander Hunter, Token Druid and Pure Paladin. Jamestown brought its Resurrect Priest, Whirlkick Rogue and Pirate Warrior. Game one was Coker's Highlander Hunter against Jamestown's Resurrect Priest. Coker was able to pressure with multiple secrets but Jamestown was able to navigate the board to take the first win.

Game two was Coker's Token Druid against Jamestown's Whirlkick Rogue. Coker wasn't able to get early minions on the board. When Coker was finally able to fill the board, Jamestown had enough mana to deal with the threats. Jamestown used many combo cards to win the second game.

Game three was Coker's Pure Paladin against Jamestown's Pirate Warrior. Coker was able to heal past the early game damage that Jamestown was able to push out. But Jamestown was able to not only clear the board, but was able to produce two massive minions to win the third game. Coker drops to a 2-1 match record and 8-1 game record in the season.

The Hearthstone team will continue season on Tuesday (Feb. 23) against Cornell College at 8:00 p.m. Video for the match will be available at www.cokercobras.com
