Coker Defeats Wayland Baptist in NACE Hearthstone National Championship Second Round

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker University ESports team defeated Wayland Baptist University 3-0 in the second round of the NACE Hearthstone National Championship on Tuesday (Feb. 9).

Coker brought Token Druid, Pure Paladin and Secret Mage while Wayland Baptist brought its Priest and Druid. Game one was Coker's Token Druid against Wayland Baptist's Priest. Coker was able to get a board to stick and buffed their minions to win.

Game two was Coker's Pure Paladin against Wayland Baptist's Druid. Coker kept the same strategy as the first game and won with a buffed up Devoit Pupil.

Game three was Coker's Secret Mage against Wayland Baptist's Priest. This time Coker applied a lot of pressure with their secret synergy and Wayland Baptist was unable to keep up, sealing the 3-0 win for the Cobras. This puts Coker at a perfect 2-0 match record and 6-0 game record in the season. 

The Hearthstone team will continue the season on Tuesday (Feb. 16) against Jamestown at 8:00 p.m. Video for the match will be available at www.cokercobras.com
