Coker Esports Falls to North Georgia in Peach Belt Conference Action

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker University Esports Hearthstone team took on Damen in the Tespa Open Division, while the Overwatch team took on North Georgia in a Peach Belt Conference Overwatch matchup on Monday (Nov. 2).

Coker brought their Highlander Face Hunter, Soul Demon Warrior, and Big Warrior to face off against Daemen's Bomb Warrior, Highlander Face Hunter, and Soul Demon Hunter. The first match was Coker's Hunter versus Daemen's Demon Hunter. Daemen was able to heal up Coker's damage thanks to their Aldrachi Warblades to win the first game. The second game was Coker's Hunter versus Daemon's Warrior, and even though Coker had many bombs in their deck, they were able to find lethal. If they drew just one more bomb they would have lost. The third game was a Warrior versus Warrior matchup. Coker's Warrior had the advantage because they were able to play multiple big minions that Daemen couldn't handle. The fourth game was Coker's Demon Hunter versus Daemen's Warrior. Coker was able to come back in this matchup after being very close to death with their lifesteal cards, but just as they were about to turn it around they drew a bomb to lose game four. The fifth and final game was Coker's Demon Hunter versus Daemen's Hunter. Coker again was just one turn away from getting a bunch of health back, but Daemen was able to find lethal to win the match.

In the Overwatch matchup versus North Georgia the first map was King's Row, and although Coker was able to get the payload moving, they were stopped soon after on the way to the second point. North Georgia was then able to push past where Coker did to win the first map. The second map was Lijiang Tower, and North Georgia played aggressively to get the point away from Coker. North Georgia was able to win the first two rounds to win the match 2-0.

The Cobras will be back in action on Thursday (Nov. 5) when they compete in the Hearthstone Open Division at 7:00 P.M.
