ESports Drops Pair of Matches Monday Night

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker University dropped a pair of matches Monday night (Mar. 9) to Shawnee State in Hearthstone and Georgia College in League of Legends.

The Cobras faced off against Shawnee State in the second week of the Tespa Varsity Series. Both teams entered the week at 1-0. Coker got on the board first with two quick wins with their Galakrond Rogue and Resurrect Priest deck. Shawnee State was able to answer back with a close Hunter vs Hunter match and then another win with their Token Druid deck. The last match was Coker's Highlander Hunter vs Shawnee State's Galakrong Warrior. The Bears got an early head start but Coker was starting to turn the table back in their favor. As soon as it looked like it was going Coker's way, Shawnee State was able to find lethal to win the match.

Coker will return with their next Open Division Game on Tuesday, Mar. 10.

The Cobras then faced off against Georgia College in the Peach Belt Conference League of Legends Series. The first match started off strong as Coker laid a trap for Georgia College  to step into and were able to get three early kills before minions spawned. They then sued this lead to win the first game. The second game was a back and forth battle that saw Georgia College win a few crucial teamfights, and win the game off of these late game fights. In the third match, it was Georgia College that laid the trap and they were able to get an early kill to put the Cobras behind early. They then sued this advantage to win the game and the match.

The Cobras return to action in League of Legends on Thursday (Mar. 12) to face Georgia Southwestern at 7:00 p.m. Video for the matches will be available at www.cokercobras.com
