
Coker Wins Two Over Emory & Henry, Look For Sweep Monday
The Cobras outscored the Wasps 21-8 in two wins.
HARTSVILLE, SC. - Jaylen Mack blasted his second long ball of the year in game one, Cody Chapman pitched a complete game in the second, as Coker eyes a sweep Monday over Emory and Henry. The Cobras pounded out 23 hits on the day, plating 21 runs, earning their first two SAC wins of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Coker struck first in game one when Hunter Poole singled through the right side in the second inning bringing in two. Ick Cirino later laid down a bunt bringing in two more to give Coker a demanding 4-0 lead. Casey Cleghorn was excellent once again for the Cobras on the mound as he held the Wasps scoreless through the first four innings.
Emory and Henry began to threaten in the fifth and sixth inning, plating four runs, and eventually forcing Cleghorn out of the game. The Cobras responded in the top of the seventh though when Gabriel Santiago laid down a bunt of his own. The speedy middle infielder forced the Wasps pitcher into a throwing error, ultimately plating two. Senior Jaylen Mack tacked on another in the inning with a single to right field, and. Coker found themselves leading 8-4.
After plating another in the top of the eighth, Tyler Satterley was called on by the Cobras to close the door. After a Mack long ball in the top of the ninth, Tyler was given a three run lead to work with. While the Wasps didn't go away quietly, Satterley did exactly what he was asked of, and earned the save to give Coker a 11-8 win.
Gabriel Santiago, Jaylen Mack, Luke Peterson, and Alex Lazar all recorded two or more hits in game one. The Cobras stole four bases, a stat they currently lead the nation in. Cleghorn has now moved to 2-0 on the season with Satterley picking up his first save.

Cody Chapman got the ball for the Cobras in game two, and didn't disappoint. The senior allowed just two hits over the course of seven innings, and struck out a season high 10 batters on the evening.
Coker plated four runs in the top half of the third inning headlined by a Gabriel Santiago double. Jaylen Mack added another RBI on the day with a single, and Coker had a 5-0 lead. In the fifth Coker added four once more. Alex Lazar started the scoring with a single to centerfield, and Ian miller added one of his own to help Coker take a demanding lead.
Chapman continued to dominate over the course of the game, facing just 26 batters. The Cobras added one more in the sixth with another Lazar single, and Coker coasted to a 10-0 win in game two.
Coker stole eight bases in game two, as Alez Lazar swipped three. The Cobras saw six players record a hit, as four had two. Ian Miller scratched his first hit of the season, as he singled twice.
