After a quick top half of the first inning, Coker gave the ball to Graham Whittle. He gave the Cobras a great start on the mound. The right handed sidearm pitcher, threw 4.2 innings on the day, and held the nations 21st ranked team to just two runs. He saw the minimum batters in the second inning to help get Coker back into the dugout.
Coker struck first in the top half of the third. The damage came with two outs, as Alex Lazar was hit by a pitch. Ian Miller then put a ball in play in a full count with Lazar having a head start. A throwing error by the third basemen brought Lazar into score, and Coker was on the board.
Mount Olive quickly got that run back in the bottom half of the fourth with a solo home run to even the game at one. They then added another in the bottom of the 5th on a wild pitch to hold a 2 to 1 lead.
On a day that saw Mount Olive pitch eight pitchers, Coker struggled to get into a rhythm at the plate. The Cobras continued to put runners on the base paths, and in the 7th pushed the tying run across.
Jaylen mack started the inning off with a single, and a pitch later stole second base. Alex Lazar then moved him over with a great piece of hitting, and then the Cobras walked two straight at bats to load the bases. A wild pitch to Gabriel Santiago brought in Mack just one batter later, and Coker still threatend. The Trojans pitching staff worked out of the jam and stranded three runners to escape with little damage.
From there, the two teams pitching staffs stepped up throughout. Both teams went back and forth, and had chances to take the lead or win the game, but were shut down. In the bottom of the 11th the Trojans changed that. Two bloop singles got the Trojans in position to win the game. Coker then intentionally walked Lane McLean who had three hits on the day to load the bases. One batter later, Coker saw a bases loaded walk helped the Trojans walk off the Cobras.
