Coker Drops Third Game of Series to Tusculum

Jefferson City, TN - The Coker University Baseball Team dropped their third game of the series against Tusculum on Sunday (March 5th).

With a scoreless first inning, the Cobras were the first to go up; Kody Hanna being batted in by Eli Hopkins at the top of the second inning. The Pioneers soon answered in the bottom of the seond inning, bringing the score to a tie at 1-1. The rest of the game carried on smoothly with no runs scored until the bottom of the sixth. Tusculum went up one run with an RBI from Darien Farley and that was the last run scored, an unwanted outcome for the Cobras. 

Of the 30 at bats, Coker smashed out six hits, one run, and one RBI. Kody Hanna led the Cobras with a stoeln base. Ashby Vining and Jacob Yarberry also recorded sacrifice fly balls in order to put their teammates in scoring positions.

Garrett Dunn and Britton Adams pitched for Coker today, Dunn facing 21 batters and Adams facing 15. Garrett Dunn threw 52 strikes out of 81 pitches while Britton Adam threw 38 strikes out of 52 pitches. 

The Cobras will be returning to the mound on Wednesday (March 8th) against USC Aiken. The first pitch will be thrown at 6 PM in Hartsville, SC. Live streaming and stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com
