Cobras Come from Behind to Defeat Falcons 6-4

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Cobras scored five runs in the final three innings to bring home a 6-4 come from behind win over Pfeiffer University on Sunday. The win gave Coker the 2-1 Conference Carolinas series win over the Falcons, and improved their league record to 7-5.

Andrew Goot (Oldsmar, Fla.) (5-2) earned the complete game victory on the hill. He scattered five hits, allowing four runs with four strikeouts in nine innings of work.

Trailing 4-1 after the opening six innings, the Cobras plated three runs in the top of the seventh, tying the game at four. In the top of the eighth Jake Frazier (Indian Harbor Beach, Fla.) drove in the eventual game-winning run, while Fico Kondla (Miami, Fla.) gave the Cobras a two-run cushion with another run in the top of the ninth.

Lucas Britt (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) was Coker's leading hitter with a pair of hits and a run scored. Kondla finished the game 1-for-3 with an RBI and run scored and Nathan Wilson (Milliken, Colo.) had a double with a run scored.

The Cobras next game will be on Wednesday when they travel to UNC Pembroke for a non-conference game at 5 p.m. The Cobras defeated the No. 20 Braves 6-1 earlier this season.
