Coker Takes Down Lander in Celebration of Senior Night

Hartsville, SC - The Coker University Acrobatics and Tumbling Team defeated Lander in celebration of their seniors by a score of 265.075-257.200. 

Starting off the competition strong, Lander began by scoring 36.350 points in the Compulsory event. The Compulsory event was only the beginning of the head to head competition between Lander and Coker for the remainder of the night as Coker posted an impressive 38.100 points in answer. The Cobras individual scores of each Compulsory Heat consisted of 9.700, 9.900, 9.700, and 8.800. The Cobras kept their momentum running into the next event of Acro and collected a score of 28.300 points. Coker scored 9.550 in Heat 1, 9.100 in Heat 2, 9.650 in Heat 3. Lander also put up an additional 28.100 points to their cumulative score. Despite Lander closing the gap, the Cobras continued their lead into the Pyramid event and put up another perfect 10/10, taking their lead up by two points with a 96.000 cumulative score. On a high from their fourth perfect 10 of the season, the Cobras kept their sprits up as they entered the Toss event. Coker landed a hefty 26.750 points compared to Lander's 26.250 points. Coker registered 51.625 for the Tumbling Event as Lander put up 49.300 points; Madison McAfee, Ashley Walker, and Paula Urquidi being stand out athletes for Coker. To round out the meet, Coker claimed 90.700 out of 100 points and finished with a cumulative score of 265.075 to beat the Bearcats. The Cobras also took down their previous program high and replaced it with the score from tonight's competition.
