Acrobatics and Tumbling Drops Match Against Belmont Abbey

Belmont, NC. – Coker went on the road to face Belmont Abbey on Friday evening action. Coker battled hard and performed well but fell short of Belmont Abbey. The team went on to score 256.63 as Belmont Abbey scored 257.80. The Cobras pulled a perfect score in the open heat of the Pyramid to book their trip to Nationals.   

 

Coker scored well throughout the match and hit their stunts through the competition. They scored a solid 36.90 out of 40 in Compulsory. In Acro, the team hit a score of 27.55 out of 30. In the pyramid, the team scored 29.15 with a little help from the open heat pyramid that was made up of Hanna Helms- SO, Kayla Young-JR, Madison McAfee- SR, Dorian Brantley- JR, Ariel Davis- So, Elizabeth Farester- SR,  Kaylin Francavilla-SO, Chloe Hull- FR, Zadie Dulaney- JR,  Jada Dalton- FR, 10 Amber Garcia- JR, and Reilly Dehner- SO in the heat that scored a perfect 10 putting the team in the hunt for a trip to. Nationals. This will be the second time in Coker history as well as the second time under coach Brianna D'Angelo scoring a perfect 10. In the toss, the team combined for 25.30 out of 30. The Cobras grabbed 49.175 out of the six events in tumbling. In team events, Coker tallied up 88.55 points collectively.  

Coach D'Angelo had this to say about today's competition:

"I am so proud of the team and everything they competed at the meet today. We faced a lot of adversity at the beginning of the week but they finished strong and kept it close. We ended on a high note and got our 2nd perfect 10.0 in program history in the open pyramid! I can't wait to keep this momentum going for the rest of the season. "
