Acrobatics and Tumbling Picked Fifth in Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Coker Acrobatics and Tumbling team was picked fifth in the 2022 Conference Carolinas Preseason Coaches Poll, announced today (Jan. 20) by the conference. The Cobras are looking forward to a strong season under the leadership of first year head coach Brianna D'Angelo. 

The Limestone Saints were chosen as the favorites to win the conference this season, receiving five out of a possible nine first place votes. 2021 champion Converse University is in second place after receiving two out of nine first place votes. Defending regular season champion King University was picked third and Belmont-Abbey rounded out the top four. 

The Cobras are in the fifth position, followed by Lander, Emmanuel (Ga.), Mars Hill, and Chowan. 

Sophomore Amber Garcia (Clover, S.C.), junior Paula Urquidi (Langley, British Columbia), and sophomore Madison McAfee (Chapin, S.C.) were chosen by the conference as Cobra athletes to watch.

The 2022 Coker Acrobatics and Tumbling season gets underway February 13 at 2 p.m., when the Cobras host Converse University. Coverage can be found at www.cokercobras.com
