Omar Armengol is a dedicated and accomplished wrestler who has been named the new graduate assistant coach for the Coker University Wrestling Team. Armengol has achieved success both on the mat and in the classroom. Throughout his collegiate career, he has been a standout member of the Coker University wrestling team, earning numerous victories and accolades. Notably, he made it to Nationals in 2023 after competing at regionals and taking third place.
In addition to his athletic achievements, Armengol has also excelled academically, earning a spot on the South Atlantic Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll. His hard work and determination have not gone unnoticed, as he was named a NWCA Scholar All-American during his freshman year.
Before his collegiate career, Armengol attended Mater Lakes Academy, where he was a key member of the Bears Wrestling Team. His success continued at the high school level, where he was a district and regional champion and a state runner-up.
Off the mat, Armengol is the proud son of Omar and Yenny Armengol. His dedication to his sport, his academic success, and his strong work ethic make him a valuable addition to the coaching staff as a new graduate assistant wrestling coach. His passion for the sport and commitment to excellence make him a role model for student-athletes both on and off the mat.
