HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Coker University senior track and field athlete Calene Lazare has been named the SPC Credit Union February Student-Athlete of the Month, announced by the athletics department today (Thursday, Mar. 10).

Lazare broke the school and meet records in both the 60m (7.50) and 200m (24.68) at the South Atlantic Conference Indoor Championships. She was also the conference champion in both events and her times were fast enough to qualify for the NCAA Division II National Championships in Pittsburg, Kansas. Lazare was also named SAC AstroTurf Indoor Track Athlete of the Week (Feb. 22) for the second time in her career. 

This is Lazare’s first career Student-Athlete of the Month selection.

The Newton, Mass. native is a double major in biology and psychology.
