Coker's Chebii and Weibel Sweep SAC Cross Country Runner of the Week Honors

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Coker's College cross country runners Jacob Chebii and Hannah Weibel have been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's and Women's Cross Country Runners of the Week, respectively, for races from Oct. 12-18, the League announced today.

Chebii, a freshman from Eldoret, Kenya, won the 5k race at the Francis Marion Invitational last week with a time of 16:02. His performance led the Coker men to an overall second place finish at the meet. Chebii's time moves him into first place all-time at Coker in a 5k race, and he now holds both the 5k and 8k records at Coker.

Jacob is a physical education major. He is the son of Linah Chebii and Peter Chemitei.

Weibel, a senior from Nova, Ohio, took the top spot in the women's 5k race at the Francis Marion Invitational where she finished at 19:25, and she helped led the Cobra women to a first place finish overall. Weibel's time of 19:25 places her fourth all-time at Coker in a 5k race.

Hannah is an exercise science major. She is the daughter of Barbara and Martin Cook.
