The Coker men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Furman Invitational in Greenville, SC on Saturday (Sept. 12). The men finished 11th while the women notched a 10th place finish.
Noah Cook and Brandon Mullins were the top two finishers for the men; Cook finishing 129th with a time of 27:23.60. Mullins landed only two spots behind his fellow Cobra with a time of 27:23.96. Rounding out the men's squad were Jacob Chebii (28:11.24), Tom Sizeland (28:50.98), Joe Altieri (29:34.81) and Luke Elliot (30:14.45).
Senior Hannah Weibel paced the women finishing in 32nd place with a time of 24:06.02. Lisa Foster and Mercy Muhuhu finished back-to-back placing 67th and 68th respectively. Foster finished in 25:15.08 while Muhuhu locked up a time of 25:15.13. Rounding out the women's squad were Breanna Sullivan (25:37.92), Shauntel Smullen (26:47:70) and Vanessa Pina (28:33.46).
The Cobras will run next on Saturday, September 26, at the Wingate Bulldog Invitational. The race is slated for a 9:00 a.m. start.
