Cobras Open 2015 at Columbia International

The Coker men's and women's cross country teams open up their 2015 campaigns Saturday, Sept. 5 at the Columbia International University Open in Columbia, S.C. They will be running with CIU, Newberry, USC-Beaufort, Bob Jones, Southern Wesleyan, Charleston Southern, Methodist, and Toccoa Falls.

The Cobras return to an event in which both the men and women captured second place finishes in 2014. Noah Cook finished in 11th place with a time of 17:22, while Shauntel Smullen paced the women in the 5k event finishing in a fourth-place tie with a time of 21 minutes.

Cook and Smullen will lead their respective squads in 2015. Cook was recently named one of three team captains after an outstanding freshman campaign. Smullen returns after an equally-stellar freshman campaign that landed her on the All-SAC Honorable Mention team.
