Coker's Bates Named to USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College senior men's cross country runner Dylan Bates has been named to the 2015 U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II All-Academic Cross Country Team.

In order to qualify for the team student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher and they must place in the top 50 percent of the most recent NCAA Championship or in the top 30 percent at the NCAA Regional Championship.

Bates, a native of Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, is a double major in mathematics and computer science with a perfect 4.0 GPA. He was one of 10 student-athletes from South Atlantic Conference to be named to the 2015 Division II All-Academic Team.

Dylan is the son of Barbara and Michael Bates.
