Wingate, NC- The Coker Cross Country teams competed in the Wingate Invitational on Saturday in collegiate cross country. The Wingate Invitational is a 10k race for the men and a 6k race for the women.

 

In the men’s race Coker finished in seventh place defeating regionally ranked Wingate, North Carolina Central, Lees-McRae and Barton College. With this race the Cobras should move up in the regional rankings. Individually, junior David Green/ Easley, SC, finished in the top ten, running a 35:14. Junior Nathan Hansen/ Montgomery, AL, was next coming in at 36:41, followed by Tyler Carroll/ Birmingham, AL at 37:28. Finishing out the field for the Cobras were Jermain Cooper/ Irmo, SC (40:25), Adam Green/Easley, SC (40:30), Britt Means/Irmo, SC (40:59) and Michael Koshis/ Greenville, SC (45:11).

 

The Cobras next cross country meet is the Great American Invite in Cary, NC on September 24.
