Lott Named to 2017 NCAA D-II Cross Country All-Region Team, Qualifies for NCAA Championships

NEW ORLEANS, La.- Coker College's Darroneshia Lott has been named to the 2017 NCAA Division- II Cross Country All-Region team for her efforts on the trails this season, as it was announced by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Monday (Nov. 6) afternoon. 

With the award, Lott adds to an abundance of accolades to her name during her time spent at Coker College. The Florida native has solidified herself as one of the best in the history of the program.

Just this season alone the senior has broken six school records, while setting two of her own. Most notably, Lott owns the top-five 5K times in school history, with her fastest pace coming this season at the South Atlantic Conference Championships, with a time of 17:52.88 in a second overall finish.

The decorated runner also owns the top-four 6K times for the program, as she set the new school record at the NCAA Southeast Regional this past Saturday (Nov. 4) with a 21:59.42 mark good for a third place overall finish in the race.

Lott will have one more cross country event to compete in for her collegiate career and that will come on Nov. 18 in Evansville, In. at Angel Mounds, as she will run in the NCAA Championships set to begin at 11:15 a.m. eastern time. Results from the race can be found by visiting www.cokercobras.com.
