Cross Country Men Finish Top Five, Women Top Ten at Winthrop/Adidas Invitational

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker College Cross Country team ventured to the upstate in Rock Hill, S.C. to run in the Winthrop/Adidas Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 16). Both the men's and women's teams placed in the top ten of their respected races. 

Coming off of a record setting race, Darroneshia Lott capitalized on yet another opportunity to put her best foot forward. In the 5K, Lott ran a 19:02.74 to firmly finish in second place, only nine seconds off of the race winner. The Coker women finished sixth overall out of 12 other teams. Freshman Chauntress Like also raced well running a 22:30.48 to place 25th.    

On the other side of the trails, the Cobra men finished fourth out of nine teams, as Jacob Chebii finished inside the top 10 in seventh, with a time of 27:46.74 in the 8K. Additionally, Brandon Mullins ran well placing 17th at the 28:59.31 mark.

Coker College's men's and women's cross country teams will be back on the paths Saturday (Sept. 23) when they will run in the Wingate Invitational in Wingate, N.C. Start time for the race is scheduled for 9 a.m.
