Volleyball Drops Saturday Matinee to King (Tenn.) at Tony Fontanelle Memorial Tournament

MARS HILL, N.C. - Coker University volleyball dropped its Saturday (Sept. 3) matinee against King (Tenn.) by a score of 3-0 (25-14, 27-25 and 25-19) to finish off their participation in the Tonny Fontanelle Memorial Tournament at Mars Hill University. 

Naomi Earl-Reyes led the way with nine kills, while Taylor Hills had eight and Chelsey Blume also had seven. Lauren Loveday totaled six kills in the match, while Alexis Kopicki, Makayla Harris and Alex Williams each had one. Adriana Velez dished out a team-high 15 assists in the match, while Kendal Boland had 13 and Harris had two. Blume and Williams also each had one assist in the match. Boland registered two service aces in the match, while Hills also had onne. Loveday collected a team-best 17 digs in the contest, while Harris also had 12. Six others recorded digs in the match. Blume led the blocking effort with two block assists, while four others each registered one block assist in the match. 

The Cobras return to the court on Tuesday (Sept. 6) to travel to Wingate for a South Atlantic Conference tilt. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. from Wingate, N.C., with video and live stats available at www.cokercobras.com.
