Volleyball Falls to Lenoir-Rhyne in Conference Opener

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Coker University Volleyball fell to Lenoir-Rhyne in its South Atlantic Conference opener on Tuesday (Aug. 30) by a score of 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-8). 

Naomi Earl-Reyes led the way with seven kills, while Lauren Loveday had six. Taylor Hills had three kills, while Nehemiah Jinks and Adriana Velez had two kills and Alaysia Anderson also contributed one. Velez dished out 15 assists in the match, while Makayla Harris had two and Loveday, Kendal Boland and Earl-Reyes each had one assist. Earl-Reyes also registered three aces in the contest. Hills led the way with 11 digs, while eight others also recorded digs in the match. Anderson recorded a solo block in the match, while Earl-Reyes and Anderson each had one block assist. 

The Cobras (2-2, 0-1 SAC) return to action on Friday (Sept. 2) at the Tony Fontanelle Memorial Tournament hosted by Mars Hill University. Coker will take on Young Harris at 1:15 p.m. and Georgia College at 5:45 p.m. Video and live stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com
